Goliath

Goliaths are one of the two major ancient races.  Goliaths live in the mountains of most continents, generally avoiding most civilization.  Goliaths' legends say that they were born from the the stone of the mountains, just as the Dwarves were born from the stone of the ground.  Legends also speak of a great flood, and their vast mountain homelands becoming the continents and islands of today.

Goliaths feel they have a right to the land, but have learnt from bloody trial and error that the younger races do not appreciate this view.  They were happy when the Divine Empire fell, but are wary of the newer empires, especially the Worldly Empire.  However, the history of the world does not trouble them overly much, and they do not harbor grudges like the dwarves do.  The world is the way the world is in the present, and neither the past nor the future matter like the present.

Goliaths are vicarious, enjoy feats of physical prowess, and are very aware that they are bigger and stronger than nearly any other race.  Goliaths call the all mountains home, and rightfully so, as they can almost always find tribes of their fellows among the mountain peaks.  As such, Goliaths are best known as travellers to the rest of the world, as they are seen traveling from one mountain range to another.  They do occasionally travel by sea, but universally detest the experience for many reasons.

Goliaths would be a minor race, but tales of 7 foot tall men of stone who travel between mountains tend to spread well and far.  Goliaths are known to be incredibly strong and tough, yet easily flattered and manipulated.  Also considered show-offs.  Goliaths are welcomed as visitors anywhere, but often the locals are looking for something to gain.  Personalities are something most of the tales gloss over.

For Goliath PCs:
Goliaths are as written in the PHB2, with the exception of not needing to drink water.
